Proven Performance
Raleigh St. Augustine has been the standard choice for lawns for decades, providing dependable and consistent performance.

Growth Density and Texture

Disease and Insect Resistance
This grass is resistant to common issues such as the St. Augustine Decline (SAD) virus and fall armyworms, resulting in a healthier lawn.
Mowing Requirements
For best health, Raleigh should have weekly mows with a height of 2 to 3 inches to prevent stress from overcutting.
Soil pH Preferences
It grows in pH ranges of 5.0 to 8.5, but it may appear chlorotic in highly alkaline soils above pH 7.5.
Weed Resistance
Raleigh competes effectively with weeds and has good resistance; however, pre-emergent herbicides are recommended for the best results.
Fertilization Needs
A balanced fertilization schedule, consisting of two to three applications per year (typically in the fall, spring, and mid-season), aids in the maintenance of a healthy, vibrant lawn.
Recommended Applications
Raleigh St. Augustine is ideal for both residential and commercial lawns, producing a dense, lush turf with moderate maintenance, but it is not suitable for high-traffic areas due to its low traffic tolerance.
